Project Overview

In partnership with Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), Raleigh Parks will be making improvements to the existing fields and playground area. A portion of the Fletcher Park property is jointly owned by the City and WCPSS. A Joint Use Agreement (JUA) has been in effect since 1990 to support both general-public recreation and Broughton High School athletic teams. 

The scope of this partnership project includes:

• Construction of a lit softball field
• Expansion of the lower open space to create a regulation-size multipurpose field
• A new outdoor comfort station
• Improvements to the existing playground and picnic shelter

Project Timeline: 2026 - 2029
