Buffaloe Road Athletic Park

Track and Field Improvements

Project Overview

The Buffaloe Road Athletic Park Track and Field Improvements project will renovate and enhance the existing track and field complex to address aging infrastructure, accommodate growing regional demand, and improve the experience for athletes, spectators, and park users. Located at 5900 Buffaloe Road, the regional athletic facility serves local residents, youth sports organizations, schools, and tournament events, including NCAA, high school, and Special Olympics competitions. Since its original construction in the early 2000s, the facility has not undergone any major renovations.

The project will include replacement of the existing running track, conversion of the natural grass field to synthetic turf, improvements to field event facilities, and upgrades to supporting site infrastructure. Additional enhancements include an upgraded drainage system, new fencing, two shade structures, expanded storage facilities, and other improvements to support a variety of athletic and recreational programs. These improvements will enhance facility performance, expand programming opportunities, improve year-round usability, and extend the long-term service life of this important regional athletic asset.
