Gabriel Torres
End of Watch: Oct. 13, 2022
Officer Gabriel Torres was shot and killed during an ambush. Officer Torres was sitting in his personal vehicle getting ready to leave his residence for his tour of duty in the Northwest District when he was ambushed by the suspect. He was was one of five people killed during the Hedingham mass shooting incident of October 13, 2022.
Officer Torres had been with the agency for 18 months and is survived by his wife and daughter.
Charles R. Paul
End of Watch: Sept. 10, 2002
Officer Paul was killed in a motorcycle accident while attempting to catch up to a speeding vehicle on I-440.
He was running radar between Rock Quarry and Hammond Roads, when his motorcycle went out of control and struck the center median guard rail.
Officer Paul had been with the agency for seven years and is survived by his wife and daughter.
Paul A. Hale
End of Watch: July 11, 1997
Detective Hale was fatally shot in the head while attempting to apprehend a murder suspect. He and his partner were approaching the suspect's vehicle when the suspect fired a shot, striking Detective Hale. His partner returned fire, wounding the suspect, who was taken into custody. Detective Hale had been with the department since 1990 and was promoted to detective on July 7, 1997, only 5 days before the incident.
Detective Hale had been with the agency for seven years and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Denise Holden
End of Watch: Aug. 4, 1995
Officer Holden was killed in an accident while responding to an officer needs assistance call. Her vehicle left the roadway at the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Morgan Street and struck a telephone pole. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident while rescue crews attempted to extricate her.
Officer Holden had been with the agency for seven months and is survived by her parents and sister.
Delma D. Adams
End of Watch: Feb. 3, 1980
Officer Adams was shot and killed while making a DUI arrest. Officer Adams had put the female suspect in the rear of the police car. As he sat in the driver's seat the suspect produced a handgun and shot him in the back of the head through the patrol car's cage.
Officer Adams had been with the agency for thirteen years and is survived by his wife and two sons.
James G. Lee
End of Watch: Dec. 5, 1968
Officer James Lee and Officer Allen were killed in an automobile accident when their patrol car was struck by another vehicle. The initial collision pushed the patrol car into a utility pole.
Officer Lee had been with the agency for four years.
James W. Allen

Officer James Allen and Officer Lee were killed in an automobile accident when their patrol car was struck by another vehicle. The initial collision pushed the patrol car into a utility pole.

Robert E. Sparks
End of Watch: March 8, 1968
Officer Sparks was killed in a motorcycle accident while in pursuit of a speeding motorist. He lost control of the motorcycle while rounding a curve on Ridge Road.
Officer Sparks had been with the agency for fifteen months and was survived by his wife.
Tom G. Crabtree
End of Watch: Sept. 1, 1922
Detective Crabtree was shot and killed after being confronted by a drunk 19-year-old man. He was en route to join a surveillance operation when the shooting took place.
Detective Crabtree had been with the agency for nine years and was survived by his son.
