Red Go Raleigh Bus

Station Area Planning: Community Leaders and Connectors

We’re seeking residents with lived experience, local insight, and a passion for their community to help guide planning for future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations along the Western and Southern Corridors. This is more than a volunteer role. It’s a chance to lead where you live.

Why You?

Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just arrived, your perspective can help inform how Raleigh grows. If you’re interested in guiding how neighborhoods closest to future transit stations grow, this is for you.

We’re Recruiting:

  • Community Leaders to review materials, share feedback, and ensure the planning process reflects what the community needs (1-2 hours per month).
  • Community Connectors to serve as trusted liaisons between residents, businesses, and city staff (3-4 hours per month).

What to Expect:

  • Volunteer as a Leader (unpaid).
  • Get paid as a Connector ($20/hr).
  • Attend monthly meetings to connect and collaborate.
  • Help guide outreach and public engagement.
  • Be part of a team focused on building neighborhoods that reflect the community.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Residents along the Western Boulevard corridor.
  • Residents along South Wilmington Street/South Saunders corridors.
  • People who care about transportation, housing, small businesses, and community identity.
  • Trusted voices who want to help Raleigh grow in ways that reflect local values.

Complete the online form to apply to become a Community Connector or Leader.
