Inspection Process

What you need to know.

  • Pre-construction meeting 
    • A Pre-construction Meeting must be requested 5 (five) business days prior to the beginning of work.
    • It can be held either virtual or in person.
    • Consult with your Inspections Coordinator.

  • During Construction
    • Keep the current City-approved plans and all permits at the job site.
    • Submit inspection requests by 3 p.m.
    • Add the right contacts and give clear details about the work that is ready.
    • Any changes to the plan must be communicated to the inspector.
    • Changes can be Field Revisions or may require Plan Revisions.

  • As-Built Submittals
  • Sanitary sewer CCTV Inspection
    • When sewer as-builts are received, the Coordinator will request the CCTV Inspection with Raleigh Water.
  • Stormwater As-built Submittals and CCTV Inspections
  • Pre-Warranty and Acceptance process
    • All inspections and as-built submittals must be completed.
  • Warranty Period
    • The 1 (one) year warranty period begins when all work necessary is completed. 
    • A final walk-through must be completed and any issues addressed prior to the end of the one-year period to begin the acceptance process.
  • Acceptance 
    • Acceptance letters are prepared and provided to the permit holder.
    • Acceptance letters are required for any reimbursement request, where applicable.
