Watch It Grow

Seeds can lie waiting for hundreds of years before sprouting. It was shown that seeds from Egyptian tombs germinated after thousands of years!   Seeds require certain conditions in order to grow.  

Materials you will need:

  • Dried beans from your pantry
  • Plastic sandwich bag
  • Paper towel, cut into a 4-inch square

Place two seeds on top of the small piece of paper towel that has been moistened with water.  Fold the towel once to cover the seeds. Place the folded towel inside the plastic bag.  Seal the bag.  Tape the bag to the inside of a sunny window.  Watch your seeds sprout and grow! See our video below for how to:

All birds have wings. All birds are warm-blooded.  All birds have beaks, but, not all bird beaks are the same!

Materials you will need:

  • Unwound paper clips
  • Clip-style clothespins
  • A plate of raisins and seeds
