Join Our "Out" In Nature Series

Walnut Creek Wetland Park

This summer, Walnut Creek Wetland Park is piloting our Out in Nature series of programs, designed to create a welcoming space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to explore their interest in nature.

All programs are free and will be led by a queer naturalist.

Out in Nature Dates and Times

Family Fun (Ages 0+)
Sunday, June 2, 2 - 4 p.m.
Exploring nature is the perfect family bonding activity! We’ll look for wildlife, compete in a scavenger hunt, and have up-close encounters with wetland animals. All ages and family dynamics are welcome.

Just for Teens (Ages 13-17)
Tuesday, June 25, 2 - 5 p.m.
Do you love being outside? Are you fascinated by animals or rocks or plants? How do you relate to nature? Join us to explore a unique wetland environment, meet native animals, and discover ways you can connect with the outdoors.

Adult Programming (Ages 18+)
Saturday, July 13, 9 a.m. - noon
As children, we are drawn to nature, full of curiosity and imagination. In the age of technology, it can be difficult to foster that interest. Join us to nurture your inner child and grow your relationship with nature through discussion, reflection, and a good romp around the wetland. Dress to get dirty!

oSTEM (16+)
Tuesday, July 30, 2- 5 p.m.
