Join our free Cold‑Water Paddling Workshop and learn how to stay safe when the water temps drop.
You’ll get clear guidance on risks, gear, and smart paddling choices, with the option to observe or try out what you learned on the water. Sign up today to learn from ACA Instructor William Holman and paddle cold water with confidence.
The classroom portion of this program covers the risks of paddling in cold water, how to mitigate those risks for yourself and your group, and the gear and clothing to consider for safe paddling across various paddle craft. We will have multiple gear options available to show and, in some cases, demo. The water activities include wading, swimming, and deep-water re-entry.
All on‑water activities are optional and not required for class participation. Anyone wishing to join the water portion must bring their own cold‑water protection and are required to wear a PFD. Others are welcome to stay and observe. It is recommended that participants are 14 years of age or older.
