The City of Raleigh proudly joins communities across the country in proclaiming July as Park and Recreation Month, celebrating the vital role parks and recreation play in building strong, vibrant, and resilient communities.
For 40 years, Park and Recreation Month has been a time to honor the more than 160,000 full-time professionals—along with the hundreds of thousands of part-time, seasonal staff, and volunteers—who maintain and support our nation's parks and recreation programs.
Throughout July, Raleigh Parks will celebrate the power of parks to enhance health, support equity, protect the environment, and bring people together. This national initiative is led by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).
We invite you to explore programs, spaces, and services that make Raleigh’s parks a cornerstone of our community.
