Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin was first elected to the Raleigh City Council in 2007 as an at-large member, serving five terms, before being elected mayor in 2019 and re-elected in 2022. She is Chair of the Safe, Healthy, & Vibrant Neighborhood Committee, Vice-Chair of the Economic Development & Innovation Committee, Vice Chair of the GoTriangle Board of Trustees and the council’s liaison to the Downtown Raleigh Alliance.

Mary-Ann earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island and prior to that graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island. She has more than 30 years of experience in communications, marketing, branding, and business development, in addition to many years of leadership in the non-profit sector.
