Want to learn more about the housing landscape in Raleigh? The City of Raleigh has launched a new Housing Production Dashboard giving residents an easier, more interactive way to explore affordable housing developments, investments, and trends across the city.
“Behind every data point are real homes and real investments that help Raleigh families and residents build stability and stay connected to their communities,” Director of Housing & Community Development Emila Sutton said. “We are excited to launch our new Housing Production Dashboard to offer community members a clear window into where affordable housing is being built and preserved and how these efforts are shaping Raleigh’s housing future.”
The dashboard brings years of housing data together in one interactive place. Users can view how many affordable homes have been created or preserved, explore projects by program and year, and learn more about investments made through the 2020 Affordable Housing Bond.
Explore the Map
The interactive map displays affordable housing developments completed or started over the past decade. Users can also explore:
- Transit routes and Bus Rapid Transit corridors
- City Council districts
- Neighborhood Conservation Overlay Districts
- Median rent and home values
- Housing market indicators
- Other subsidized housing, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit developments and Housing Authority properties
Explore the Interactive Charts
The interactive charts section contains the City of Raleigh production information displayed above, as well as data on the Housing and Community Development Department’s significant work assisting first-time homeowners purchase homes and in crucial homeowner repairs.
Users can interact with the information in this section in a variety of ways, and view:
- Work completed each year
- Breakdowns of type of development per year
- Cumulative totals
- A table of all affordable developments created or preserved over the last decade
Users can also view information about the work being done using the 2020 Affordable Housing Bond, including the percentage of funding committed, breakdowns of the categories the funding is being used for, and a list of development projects.
This new tool supports Raleigh’s broader Affordable Housing Plan, A Home for Every Neighbor and showcases the progress underway. It reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to expanding housing choices and helping more residents access safe, stable, and affordable places to live.
