The City of Raleigh's Yard Waste Center will be collecting seasonal pumpkins and gourds for composting from Oct. 17 through Dec. 12 on-site at 900 N. New Hope Road. Residents can drop-off their pumpkins for free during the Yard Waste Center's regular business hours.
The Yard Waste Center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. Hours are subject to change due to inclement weather events. Please note the Yard Waste Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26.
Residents cannot place pumpkins or gourds in their yard waste bin or biodegradable paper bags for pick-up. This will contaminate our yard waste collections and prevent processing.
Each year more than 1 billion pounds of pumpkins end up in United States landfills. Help us divert this compostable fall decor from the landfill this season by bringing them to the City of Raleigh's Yard Waste Center!
