Internal Audit

The mission of the Internal Audit office is to promote efficient, effective, and accountable city government. To achieve this, the office conducts audits of City departments, processes, programs, and activities.



In short, audits provide a second set of eyes in the City – auditors ensure that rules are being followed, that we are protecting City resources, and that we have effective and efficient processes in place.



The audit process is collaborative, with Internal Audit staff working closely with departments and program managers. A successful audit will identify what is working well and what is not, outline a plan for improvement, and reduce risk within the organization. Audits also provide City leaders with information they need to make more informed decisions.
