City of Raleigh Homeowner Rehab and Repair Programs
June is National Homeownership Month—a time to recognize the value of safe, stable housing. In Raleigh, the City offers Homeowner Rehab and Repair Programs to help residents earning low- and moderate incomes stay in their homes, especially as they age.
These programs provide zero-percent interest forgivable loans for critical repairs and accessibility upgrades, helping residents safely age in place and avoid costly displacement.
Available Programs
- Homeowner Rehabilitation Program (not currently accepting applications)
Funding amount is typically as much as $90,000 for major repairs (roofing, HVAC, plumbing, etc.). For homeowners 62 or older or with disabilities who’ve lived in their home at least five years.
This program is administered by the City of Raleigh. Please note - this program is not currently accepting new applications
- Limited Repair Program
As much as $20,000 for one or more urgent repairs. This program is available to residents who meet the income requirements. and is administered by Preserving Home. Applications are accepted through Preserving Home.
- Raleigh Home Revitalization Program
Funding amount is typically as much as $30,000 for repairs and accessibility improvements in targeted areas. This program is also administered by Preserving Home. Applications are accepted through Preserving Home.
These efforts help ensure that longtime residents can remain in the homes and neighborhoods they love—safely and with dignity.
The City of Raleigh partners with Preserving Home, a local nonprofit to review applications, administer the Limited Repair and Raleigh Home Revitalization Program, and complete the home repairs.
