Hope Village at Method Grand Opening

Hope Village at Method Hosts Grand Opening

The City of Raleigh is proud to celebrate the grand opening of Hope Village at Method, a new supportive housing community for young adults aging out of foster care.

On May 16, 2023, City Council awarded $700,000 to CASA to build a 9-unit project. Eight apartments are dedicated to youth transitioning out of foster care, and one unit is set aside for a resident advisor who will provide on-site support. On August 13, 2024, the City officially closed on the loan, moving the project from planning to reality.

Mia Murphy, a graduate of the foster care system and youth advisor to the project, described why this housing matters.

“In our Youth Advisory Board meeting, we all said that housing was the biggest need for youth leaving foster care.”

The Hope Center at Pullen will provide wraparound services for Hope Village at Method residents, helping connect them to resources that support long-term success.

“I’m so excited that Hope Village at Method will be giving young adults housing so they can achieve what they want in life,” Mia said.

Hope Village is designed to feel like more than just apartments—it is a place of belonging. “I hope they feel a weight off their shoulders when they walk in. I hope they feel the love that we all put into these homes,” Mia said.

“I want them to feel welcomed, and I hope they realize that if they can get here, they can get anywhere.”

Stable housing is at the forefront of opportunity, and accessible housing is the solution to homelessness. By investing in homes like these and supportive services, the City is working to solve the affordable housing puzzle, one piece at a time.
