Homeownership Information Fair Recap

The City hosted a Homeownership Information Fair on Saturday, July 15 at Carolina Pines Community Center. This event highlighted City and non-profit partner programs related to homeownership. 

If you missed the event, or want a refresher on resources available to prospective or current homeowners, we've got you covered!

Homebuyer Assistance

The City offers forgivable loans of up to $60,000 to help offset the cost of a down payment, closing costs, or other expenses related to purchasing your first home. The program has income restrictions, a maximum home sale price, and other qualification requirements. Find out if you qualify and get started today!

Non-profit partners such as Habitat Wake and Raleigh Area Land Trust offer affordable homeownership opportunities through their programs.  

The homebuying process can be costly and challenging to navigate. CESI and DHIC offered mini Homebuyer Workshops to provide an overview for first-time buyers. 
 

Homeowner Rehab and Repair

The City offers three programs to help homeowners maintain the longevity of their homes. Learn more and find out if you qualify:

• Limited Repair Program - loan of up to $15,000 to help with at least one severely deteriorated system (such as roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or structural). Income limits and other qualification restrictions apply.

• Raleigh Home Revitalization Program - loan of up to $30,000 to be used for necessary repairs and maintenance, help seniors age in place, install accessibility measures to help persons with disabilities, and improve quality of life. The home must be located in targeted geographic areas. Income limits and other qualification restrictions apply.

• Homeowner Rehabilitation Program - loan of up to $90,000 to help with at least three severely deteriorated systems (such as roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or structural). Income limits and other qualification restrictions apply.
