This is What I Do! Help Prevent Fires Through Outreach and Education

Meet Lemuel Hubbard, Fire Prevention Coordinator

There are thousands of employees that keep the City running each day. The video series, “This is What I Do,” highlights some of the unsung heroes who often work behind the scenes to serve our community.

Our most recent episode features Lemuel (Lem) Hubbard, a fire prevention coordinator in the Raleigh Fire Department. He shares fire safety tips and teaches people to have a plan in place if a fire does occur.

Lem gets out in the community year-round to reach as many people as he can. In fact, you may have seen him at the State Fair, in the mall, or at one of our local elementary schools. And while he loves any opportunity to engage with people, his favorite event is on the horizon – Holiday Express at Pullen Park. It’s here that he and other firefighters roast Smore’s with kids and spread the word about fire safety!
