- Real smoke. Real fire. Real training. Raleigh Fire Department firefighters now have an enhanced space to practice live fires. A two-story structure at the Keeter Training Center features several rooms, simulating a residential environment. Learn more and see photos!
- There are thousands of employees that keep the City of Raleigh running each day. Our video series, “This is What I Do,” highlights some of the unsung heroes who often work behind the scenes to serve our community. - No matter how you choose to spend the winter holiday season, make sure to be fire safe. Your decorations, tree, lights and cooking all bring hazards. There are some easy things you can do to help prevent a house fire. Learn what they are!
- Dozens of firefighters worked to extinguish a massive blaze earlier this month at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown Raleigh. No one was injured in the blaze, and fire crews were praised for their exemplary response. Raleigh Fire Chief Herbert Griffin takes this opportunity to highlight the significance of high-rise training for firefighters in his “Ask the Fire Chief” column.
