Hot Dogs with Heroes - Autism Awareness Event with Raleigh Fire

a flyer that says "Hot Dog with Heros - come meet the Raleigh Fire Department at a autism awareness event"

The Raleigh Fire Department is partnering with Cool2Care nonprofit to strengthen awareness, understanding, and meaningful interaction with our autism community.

Join us for “Hot Dogs with Heroes” on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 12. This sensory‑friendly event is designed to create a welcoming space where children and families can meet firefighters and explore equipment at their own pace in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Participants can look forward to hotdogs, sensory items, and opportunities for hands-on engagement tailored to the needs of autistic community members. Our goal is to build positive experiences, reduce barriers, and show families that the Raleigh Fire Department is committed to learning from and connecting with our community.

Registration is free, and only one ticket per family is required. Space is limited, so we encourage families to sign up early.

We look forward to celebrating the unique perspectives that strengthen our city.
