Athletic Fields

Community centers offer a variety of rental spaces including meeting rooms, dance studios, and gymnasiums.

Many picnic shelters in our parks are available to rent through community centers. Shelters range in size and capacity from small to extra large.

Commercial Use of Park Property

Commercial use of park system property requires a permit issued by the City of Raleigh. The permit does not grant exclusive use of space but provides the permit holder a license for the activity in the designated area. The permit holder and participants must share the designated areas with other users and cannot block public access.

Permit holders must submit a completed application, a $25 permit application fee, and a certificate of insurance (COI).

Take note: Requests will be subject to staff approval. Upon approval, payment will be required to confirm the reservation. Your reservation is not finalized until you receive confirmation of your payment.

Rental Fees

Rental fees depend on the venue, time, and services requested. Information on the type of fees that may apply are below.  Please confirm any applicable fees with staff in advance.

Supervisory$30/ hour (per staff person)A supervisory fee applies to rentals scheduled outside of normal operating hours or those requiring additional staff support.
Alcohol Permit$100 flat feeRequired for events requesting alcohol at approved locations.
Off-Duty Officer$50/ hour (3 hour minimum)
Rate increases to $75/ hour on July 1, 2026
Required depending on the nature of the activity or expected attendance size.
Extended Rental FeeTwice rental rateCharged when patrons exceed the rented timeframe. The rate is based on the amount of extended time and is entered at double the hourly rate, including supervisory fees, of the facility.
Additional FeesVariesAdditional fees may apply for event services such as equipment, AV equipment, set-up, or clean-up and are not available at all locations.
