First Responders Bring Holiday Cheer to Parade Spectators

Raleigh celebrates the 80th annual Christmas Parade

Thousands of spectators braved the low temperatures and strong winds to see the 80th annual Raleigh Christmas Parade this past weekend. Raleigh fire and police departments made sure they brought holiday cheer to the crowds, along with ensuring their safety.

The parade featured floats with Triangle-area schools, bands, entertainers, businesses and, at the end, Santa Claus. The Raleigh Police Department showcased its K-9 and mounted units, along with other teams. Raleigh Fire participated with fire trucks and firefighters, along with Sparky the Fire Dog.

The 2024 ABC11 Raleigh Christmas Parade was presented by Shop Local Raleigh and took place in downtown Raleigh on Nov. 23. See photos below of RPD and RFD at the parade.
