Community Cares Collaborative meeting launch

Community Cares Collaborative Launch

The Community Engagement Department hosts first "Community Cares Collaborative"

The City of Raleigh’s Community Cares Collaborative (CCC) launched its first session on September 19, bringing together over 70 leaders from community-serving organizations.

This city-led program is designed to strengthen collaboration, build capacity, and ultimately make it easier for residents to access the support they need.

Participants heard from keynote speakers Barron Damon and Bettie Murchison, who shared timely insights into funder expectations. Following the keynote, Joy Mikhail facilitated a hands-on workshop using the Challenge → Cause → Connection framework, helping organizations sharpen how they communicate purpose, strategy, and funder alignment.

Survey Highlights
100% of attendees surveyed said they are more aware of collaboration opportunities.

Participants described the session as: “Great use of their time!”

Others highlighted the value of peer exchange, learning about other agencies, and practical takeaways they can bring back to their teams.
