Partnership Raleigh

Partnership Raleigh is built on collaboration across City of Raleigh departments to provide college and university students with meaningful, introductory professional development opportunities while exploring careers in public service. Through cross-departmental partnerships, students gain hands-on experience, develop professional skills, and build relationships with public service professionals, preparing them for future careers that make a positive impact in their communities.

Pathways to Public Services Fellows

Pathways to Public Service Fellowship

A cohort-based paid fellowship program designed for college juniors, seniors, graduate students and recent graduates (ages 18–30) seeking meaningful, real-world experience in municipal government. Fellows are placed within City of Raleigh departments where they contribute to impactful projects, develop professional skills, and gain firsthand insight into careers in public service. Through structured professional development, mentorship, and cross-departmental collaboration, the program prepares participants for successful careers dedicated to serving their communities.

Fellowship 2027 Program Dates

Program Requirements
Must be a college junior, senior, graduate students or recent graduates (ages 18–30) 
Application must include resume and essay to be reviewed 

Complete AND Clearance (no exceptions) of:  

  • Criminal Record Check 
  • Controlled Substance Testing (CST) 
  • Fingerprinting (In accordance with New Statue, (G.S. 160A-164.2(b)) requires that any applicant hired into a position that works with minors in any capacity must undergo a fingerprint-based state and national criminal history record check through the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI)

 

Community Climate Interns

Community Climate Internship Program 

A ten-week paid internship program for college students interested in advancing the goals of the Raleigh Community Climate Action Plan. Interns are placed within City of Raleigh departments supporting initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen community resilience. Through meaningful project work, professional development, and mentorship, participants build valuable skills while contributing to a more sustainable future.

Program Requirements
Must be at least a rising sophomore at the start of the program 
Application must include resume and essay to be reviewed
