This is What I Do! Oversee Design and Construction of Vertical Construction Projects

Meet Priscilla Tyree Williams, City Construction Projects Administrator

There are thousands of employees that keep the City running each day. The video series, “This is What I Do,” highlights some of our unsung heroes and the work they’re proud to be doing.

Our most recent episode features Priscilla Tyree Williams, the City’s Construction Projects Administrator. She oversees the design and construction of vertical construction projects for all departments except the Convention Center Complex, Raleigh Parks, and Raleigh Water.

Priscilla’s team hires the design team and works with the end user in identifying their specific needs for the building or facility. Once the design is complete, they oversee the construction of the building. She stays involved for the first year after construction, then turns it over to the City’s Facilities and Operations division to maintain it for the rest of its useful life.

When asked what her favorite part of the job is, she said there were many things to choose from. “Seeing ideas spoken in open settings be brought to life is the most amazing part. Then seeing the sketch or rendering develop into a 3D structure that is identical to that rendering. I am fortunate to work with a team of professionals whose commitment to public service is played out daily.”
