“Providing public Wi-Fi supports downtown Raleigh revitalization efforts by keeping visitors connected and engaged,” says City Chief Information Officer Mark Wittenburg. “It supports local businesses by enabling seamless digital transactions, navigation, and marketing opportunities, while also advancing the City’s strategic goals of economic growth and digital initiatives.”
Wittenburg added that investing in smart infrastructure helps the City create a more vibrant, accessible, and innovative experience that attracts both residents and visitors.
Reminder when using public Wi-Fi, avoid accessing sensitive accounts or entering personal information, as these networks can be vulnerable to cyber threats.
