Solid Waste Pickup Delays on July 5 due to Extreme Heat

Collection to happen on Saturday, July 6

Raleigh Solid Waste Services (SWS) will have a collection delay today (July 5) due to the extreme heat. This delay will help prevent staff injuries and illnesses caused by a high heat index. The heat index is what a temperature feels like to the average person when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature.

Solid Waste staff will collect on Saturday, July 6 as a result of the July 4th holiday. Residents may experience collection delays and should leave their carts at the curb until they are serviced.
