Tornado in a Bottle

Use a few simple items you have in your home to create a tornado in a bottle! Once you’ve added all ingredients, spin the spittle in a circular motion to cause a tornado to form. 

Supplies Needed: 

  • Tall bottle or glass
  • Water (enough to fill the bottle/glass halfway)
  • Dish soap (a few drops)
  • Glitter (optional)

Rain Cloud Science Experiment

The goal of this science experiment is to illustrate how rain clouds work. Using household items, you can display how rain clouds hold on to water (pulled from water vapor in the air) until they’re so full that they begin to lose water and rainfalls. 

Supplies Needed: 

  • Clear glass or jar
  • Water
  • Dropper
  • Shaving cream
  • Food coloring (blue preferred but any color will work)
