- When a fire is marked under control and the smoke begins to clear, the job is only beginning for one group of Raleigh Fire Department professionals. The Fire Investigation team is tasked with determining the cause of structural fires and several other fires, such as vehicle fires. This can be a labor-intensive task, but for team members, it’s like a calling – the fun of putting together a puzzle, the challenge of a mystery.
- Assistant Chief Danny Poole is celebrating a milestone only a few people achieve: He’s served his community for 45 years! Poole began his career with the Raleigh Fire Department on Sept. 18, 1978, and he is the longest-serving member of the department. Raleigh Fire recently celebrated with a surprise party.
