Do You Want to Become a Firefighter?

A part of The City of Raleigh’s firefighter application process is the physical agility test. 

To be considered for selection to the Raleigh Fire Academy, applicants must pass the physical agility test conducted at The Keeter Training Center. It consists of a series of physical tasks. These activities approximate physical tasks routinely performed by firefighters on the job. The tasks measure strength and cardio capabilities of applicants. Most tasks are timed.

If you want to apply to the Academy, consider preparing for the agility test for safety purposes and to enhance you chance for a higher score. With adequate preparation, the average healthy, fit individual should be able to complete the test safely and satisfactorily. During testing, all procedures will be explained in detail and demonstrated if necessary.

It describes in detail the requirements (application paperwork, exams, etc.) needed to complete the application process.
