How Can I Get Weather Updates?

How do I get there?

There is no event parking allowed in the park.  Everyone will need to either take a shuttle, bike, walk or ride-share to Dix Park.

Where do I park?

There are two free parking options for the Raleigh 4th of July Fireworks: 

1. NC State University Centennial Campus: No shuttle service from Centennial Campus event parking – walk only to Dix Park
2. Downtown Raleigh: Free shuttles will transport you and your guests from Downtown parking to and from Dix Park

Where is Family Drop-off and Rideshare?

The address for the family/rideshare drop-off is 1030 Richardson Drive. The entrance to the family drop-off is at the intersection of S. Boylan Avenue. and Western Boulevard. Attendees should look for the family rideshare signage on Western Boulevard to access that entrance.

How do I access free parking on NC State University Centennial Campus?

Centennial Campus at the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Oval Drive, Centennial Parkway and Achievement Way, or Avent Ferry Road and Varsity Drive. When you arrive, follow signage and instructions from parking attendants. Free event parking surface parking lots are located along Initiative Way and Main Campus Drive. Free event and parking is also in the Partners Way Deck and Oval West Deck. 

How do I get to the free event parking in Downtown Raleigh?

Free event parking is located at:

• Moore Square Parking Deck, 223 S. Wilmington Street
• City Center Parking Deck, 429 S. Wilmington Drive

Once parked, follow signs to Moore Square Park to load a free shuttle to the event. 

Please note: The last shuttle to Dix Park leaves Moore Square at 9 p.m.

What are the anticipated shuttle wait times?

There are limited shuttles available for the event. You should plan for shuttles to be busy, especially closer to and immediately after the fireworks. Plan to arrive early and pack your patience!

Are there other options to get to the event besides driving a vehicle?

Yes!

• Take a Rideshare! A dedicated rideshare drop off and pick up lot will be available on the Dix Park campus at 1030 Richardson Drive using the S. Boylan Avenue entrance to Dix Park off of Western Boulevard. Follow signs for the Rideshare Lot off of Western Boulevard.
• Walk or Bike! Use the Rocky Branch Greenway to the Hunt Drive entrance to Dix Park. There will be volunteer-monitored bike parking available. 
• Take a scooter! Scooter drop-off zones during the event are located at Hunt Drive and Western Boulevard and at the family drop-off/rideshare lot located at 1030 Richardson Drive.

Besides the fireworks, what other activities will take place at the Raleigh 4th of July Fireworks event?

40 food trucks will be on the Big Field and are open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Also, a Family Activity Zone with art activities with Artsplosure, water slides, and a foam party pit. (We recommend families pack extra clothes for the kids!) Be ready to dance the night away with music a dance party from the DJ stage, play field games, and visit informational booths while waiting for the big show.

What can I bring with me to the event?

Plan to bring a blanket, small cooler/picnic, and refillable water bottle. There will be food trucks, but you are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Water stations are available. Outdoor essentials are also recommended: Closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray.

What items are not allowed at the event?

• Personal fireworks or sparklers

• Weapons of any kind
• Smoking & Vaping
• Drug use
• Open flames and grilling
• Tents, canopies
• Drones
• Littering
• Please leave pets safe at home! 

What time do the fireworks begin?

9:30 p.m.

I have a family member and/or friend that has a physical disability or mobility challenge. Getting to a shuttle and/or into the Big Field viewing area at Dix Park is not accessible. What are my options?

There is accessibility parking located at Dix Park. Enter at Goode Street from Lake Wheeler Road. You will be directed to designated parking lots and a n ADA Shuttle will pick up from those parking lots and take attendees to the Big Field. There will be an accessible pathway into the Big Field.

Is there a place where I can drop off passengers in Dix Park then go find parking?

Yes!

We encourage family and friends drop off to help minimize shuttle riders. Follow the Family/Rideshare Drop Off/ Pick Up signs off of Western Blvd at S. Boylan Avenue. The walk to the Big Field will be 3-5 minutes from this location. You can also pick up at this location after the fireworks conclude.
