Pushout Cover

Department of Equity and Inclusion's Winter Series

Join the Department of Equity and Inclusion for our Winter Series, where we will delve into the critical topic of the criminalization of African American girls in schools through the lens of the book "Pushout." Over a span of three weeks, we will carefully examine the text, aiming to comprehend how young women of color are perceived within the institutions meant to support them in their growth.

We extend our invitation to teachers, administrators, justice system professionals, parents, and all others interested in participating in this reading and discussion series. Let's come together to explore, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue.

Registration will open Oct. 21 through Nov. 1. If registered before Oct. 25 a copy of the book will be available until supplies last.

Register now!

Meetings will be held in-person at the Pathways Center at 900 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh. View dates and topics in the table below.
