Mark Your Calendar: Medicine Drop-Off Event

This news article is more than a year old.

The City of Raleigh Police Department, Department of Equity and Inclusion, and Substance Use Advisory Commission are hosting an Unused or Expired Medicine Drop-Off Event on Saturday, April 22.

Do you have unneeded or expired prescription or over-the-counter medication at home? You can safely dispose of it during this event at one of the pharmacies below. This is a free service and no questions will be asked.

  • Falls River Pharmacy at 10930 Raven Ridge Rd
  • Wegmans at 1200 Wake Towne Dr

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reports that an average of nine North Carolinians died each day from a drug overdose. Often, the drugs responsible for these deaths are prescription medications found in our homes. Do your part to prevent dangerous drug use and overdose death by securing the medications that you need and safely disposing of the rest.
