City Computers Affected by the Global IT Outage

We are assessing the situation

Update: 2:40 p.m.

The external service for our permits has been restored. You can go online to apply for permits or to check your status.

However, today's inspections are still postponed until Monday.

Update: 12:30 p.m.

Notice: Inspections Postponed

Due to the global technology outage, the Permit and Development Portal is unavailable. This impacts applications and resubmittals, payments, and inspections scheduling.

Inspections scheduled for today, July 19, 2024, are expected to be rescheduled for Monday, July 22, 2024. Rescheduled inspections will be given priority. If any new inspection requests are made through the weekend they will be scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2024, or later that week.

We will keep you informed when the issue is resolved. Once the Permit and Development Portal is available, inspections scheduling will be assessed and adjustments may be made. If you have further questions, please contact the Planning and Development Customer Service Center at 919-996-2500.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Update: 10:45 a.m.

The external service for our permits is down. We are working with the external vendor to get it fixed. Please check back in a couple of hours to apply for permits or to check status.

Some City services are affected by the global Windows issue. Our most essential services, including water and 911 dispatch are operating. We are still evaluating the full impact on all city services. We'll update our website and social media throughout the day.
