Unique Summer Camp Experience for 2022

This summer Ralph Campbell Community Center partnered with Top Flight Computer and Triangle eSports Academy to provide youth between the ages of 10 and 12 years old a unique summer camp experience.

The program was a 5-day immersive gaming, coding and computer building camp. Each day the participants coded various games, competed in their favorite online games, learned the inner workings of high-end computer components, gained hands on experience in taking an elite computer apart and rebuilding it on their own.

All about Fossils

At Forest Ridge Park participants searched for fossils from North Carolina and learned about the different types of fossils and how they formed.

Youth Aviation Academy

The John Chavis Memorial Park hosted a Youth Aviation Academy program for children from fourth to ninth grade. They learned about the legacy of the Tuskegee Airman careers in aviation, aeronautics, and flight in the 21st century. The program was led by the Heart of Carolina Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and the curriculum included science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and interactive learning. 

Science and Engineering Night

Group of multi-ethnic, elementary age children collaborate on a 'robot' they created using tools, objects they found at home.

Hill Street Park partnered with NCSU to bring students STEM activities. College students from North Carolina State University set up hands-on experiments that allowed families to participate in fun science and engineering activities.
