Help Shape the Future of West Raleigh

Rank your priorities for a new Municipal Service District

The City of Raleigh would like to measure community support for a proposed Municipal Service District (MSD) in West Raleigh, also known as the Blue Ridge corridor. There are several community engagement opportunities listed below for residents and property owners who are interested in learning more about the MSD. You can also provide feedback on the proposed services, boundaries, and tax rates.

The MSD boundaries primarily focus on non-residential, city-owned land. It is bordered by I-40/Edwards Mill Rd. to the west, I-440 to the east, Western Blvd. to the south, and culminating near the intersection of Edwards Mill Rd. and Blue Ridge Rd. to the north.

Map outlining the area considered the Blue Ridge Corridor

The proposed MSD has been brought forward to the city by the Blue Ridge Corridor Alliance (BRCA) and its collaborators. Establishing an MSD in West Raleigh will bring sustained funding to the area and allow implementation of district-wide projects and services.

There are several ways to engage:

  • Visit Engage Raleigh and take the online survey.
  • Participate in a Listening Session
    • In-Person: Feb. 27, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Fair Grounds Hunt Horse Complex Dining Room. Registration is not required.
    • Virtual: March 1, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Virtual meeting link. Registration is not required.

You can view the proposal and all its details on the BRCA website.
