New Bern Corridor - Most Recent Update:
Construction is underway on the first two of three phases of the New Bern Avenue BRT Project. Crews are currently working between East Street and Sunnybrook Road.
The City of Raleigh is preparing to advertise the third and final construction package for the New Bern Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project by the end of the summer. This package includes the vertical construction of BRT stations.
On August 12, the City of Raleigh will host a virtual pre-advertisement meeting to present updates from the previous 2024 solicitation and provide information on coordination with the roadway contractors whose work is already underway.

New Bern Avenue will be the first corridor to begin BRT construction. There are two major focus areas for BRT planning in Raleigh:

- Station Area Planning which focuses on community planning for the amenities and areas within a short walk of BRT stations.
