This summer, Lake Johnson Park invites you to relax, restore, and recharge with a series of MELT Method wellness classes designed to reduce pain, ease tension, and improve overall mobility.
Hosted at the Thomas G. Crowder Woodland Center, these guided sessions offer a simple yet powerful way to support the body’s natural healing processes. The MELT Method is a gentle, hands-off bodywork technique that focuses on the body’s connective tissue, or fascia, to help reduce chronic pain, improve alignment, and restore balance to the nervous system.
Participants will be guided through easy-to-follow compression and lengthening techniques using a soft foam roller and specialized MELT therapy balls. All equipment is provided, making it easy for beginners to participate.
Upcoming Dates:
- Thursday, May 14, 6 - 7:15 p.m.
- Monday, June 8, 6 - 7:15 p.m.
- Thursday, July 23, 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.
- Sunday, August 2, 4 - 5:15 p.m.
Participants should be able to get on and off the floor and are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if they have one. Advanced registration is required for all classes. To register, visit RecLink or register in person at any community center.
For those interested in trying the technique before registering, a free drop-in demonstration will be held on Sunday, April 26, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Lake Johnson Waterfront Center. Attendees can observe, ask questions, or experience the method firsthand.
