We oversee dams on private property. This includes making sure dams are in compliance with state regulations and that they are functioning properly.
There are hundreds of dams in and around Raleigh that we do not maintain because they are not next to city property, we have not made repairs before, or we do not own them. Property owners are responsible for any upkeep or repairs on their dam.
