We updated the Stormwater Design Manual in 2002. The manual gives more detailed information on stormwater regulations and requirements that you need to follow when you're completing construction on a property.
The manual includes information on stormwater management requirements during and after construction (i.e. sediment and erosion control, quality of stormwater runoff, and managing flows on developed streets and sites).
There are new regulations for stormwater management that are not reflected in the manual including:
- Riparian buffers
- Floodplain development
- Small lot development
- Water supply watersheds
Note: Content in the manual is required when working on a development project. Stormwater regulations apply to all properties in Raleigh.
