Growing a Meadow Near Crabtree Creek to Protect the Planet

Have you noticed longer grass along Crabtree Creek? There's a reason for that!

We're growing a meadow along the greenway trail on Glenwood Avenue and Crabtree Valley Avenue. This will help reduce water pollution and protect the floodplain.

What You'll See

During this process, we'll:

  • Keep the grass long so that native plants grow in the area; and,
  • Mow the meadow and overseed it every spring to maintain it. This provides good habitat for pollinators and birds.

The meadow should not interfere with activities on the greenway.
