Our Boards and Commissions

Raleigh citizens have the opportunity to volunteer their services to the City without pay on various boards and commissions. Some of these are established in the City Charter; some by the North Carolina General Assembly, and others are set up by the Raleigh City Council.

There are two different types of boards and commissions for citizens appointment. Some are appointed entirely by City officials, and the rest are jointly appointed by the City and other organizations.
