Bragg Street Culvert Replacement

We are replacing a culvert at the intersection of Bragg Street and S. State Street. The pipe carries water through the stormwater system when it rains. It is failing for two reasons:

  • Age; and,
  • A drinking water line is interfering with the culvert affecting stormwater flows.

Design

The design for this project is complete. We will be upgrading the system to make it easier and safer for water to flow through the city when it rains. We will be: 

  • Installing a new culvert at the intersection of Bragg Street and S. State Street. Instead of two dual 48" x 36" pipes, there will be one larger 4.5 ft. by 10 ft. culvert on the road. 
  • Realigning the 48" pipe that carries water from S. State Street. 

We got all the required permits for construction. We're also finalizing the construction schedule. Work should begin at the end of March when the culvert is delivered.
