Raleigh Appearance Commission Celebrates Projects that Improve Community Appearance and Design

On Oct. 26, the Raleigh Appearance Commission held the 39th annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards. The awards recognize the people and projects that enhance the character, environment, and appearance of the city of Raleigh.

The event was held at Raleigh Union Station, located in downtown Raleigh, with more than 125 attendees. There were 10 award winners among the following categories: commercial, community impact, educational, land planning, public spaces, rehabilitation, historic preservation, reuse, and residential, including single and multifamily homes. More than 34 nominations were received.  

Michael Vampran was selected to design this year’s certificate for the award winners. Michael is a registered landscape designer with McAdams Engineering, located in Raleigh.
