Wake County Senior Games Spanish Demo at Five Points

A total of fifteen active adults attended the Wake County Senior Games and Silver Arts Spanish-language demonstration held on Feb. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Five Points Center for Active Adults.

Participants witnessed demonstrations of table tennis, the softball throw, and cornhole. Afterward, they were encouraged to participate in those sports. The goal was for them to try out all these activities to find the one most appealing for them.

In addition, a poetry workshop was offered by the poet Olga del Toro, as part of the cultural activities offered at the event.

After the event, participants toured the facilities of the Five Points Center for Active Adults to discover how they can use them to stay active.

The purpose of the demonstration was to raise awareness of the Wake County Senior Games, which are held yearly to promote active living among people over 50.

This year's games will be held from late March through early May. Registration is open until the first week of March and costs $20.
