Eastgate Park Neighborhood Center Facility Upgrades

The project scope includes a complete interior renovation of the existing Eastgate Park Neighborhood Center building. Improvements will include alterations to the interior layout and enhanced front entry and reception areas; new windows and doors; renovations to the restrooms including ADA improvements; new HVAC system, and improved networking and security systems. Additional improvements include new lighting, acoustic improvements to the main meeting room, and new ceilings and flooring.

This project is one of three neighborhood center renovation projects funded by the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department (PRCR) 2014 bond referendum.

A consultant team lead by Phillips Architecture, PA has been hired by the City to perform architectural and engineering design and construction administration services for building improvements at the Eastgate Park Neighborhood Center. 
Proposed improvements to the Neighborhood Center will include upgrades to the HVAC; networking and security systems; renovations to the restrooms including ADA improvements; sewer line cleaning; alterations to the interior layout; and enhanced front entry & reception areas.  Additional improvements may also include new lighting, acoustics, and ceiling in the meeting room.  Improvements will be limited to building interior.
This project is one of three neighborhood center projects funded by the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department (PRCR) 2014 bond referendum.  Budget for all three centers is $1.6 millio

The Eastgate Park Neighborhood Center Facility Updates' contract for construction has been approved by City Council.

The Eastgate Park Neighborhood Center will be closed and undergoing interior renovation construction from September 2019 through Spring 2020. A portion of the Eastgate Park parking lot will be closed for construction-related activities, but the remainder of the parking lot, including accessible parking spaces, will continue to be available for public use. All other areas of Eastgate Park will be fully open for public use including the playground, tennis courts, picnic shelter, basketball court, and multi-purpose field.

History

The neighborhood center was constructed in 1972. The building is unstaffed and is used for meetings, rentals, and other programs.
