Canoe and Kayak Launch along the Neuse River Now Open

The City of Raleigh has re-opened canoe and kayak launches along the Neuse River north of Anderson Point. Anderson Point river access should only be used to exit the river. Do not enter the river at Anderson Point and paddle downstream. The section of river between Anderson Point and Poole Road river access remains closed due to construction activities in the area.
Please note that log jams at the New Bern Avenue/US 64 bridge and the railroad bridge just downstream of the Anderson Point Park river access are still present, but navigable channels have been opened at both locations through cooperative efforts including the City of Raleigh, NC Department of Transportation, and the Coastal Carolina Railway Company. Conditions can change quickly so continue to use caution when paddling.
