Our Community Engagement Philosophy

Office of Community Engagement

We define community engagement as any process that involves the input of community members in city problem solving or decision-making. We believe that meaningful community engagement is an open, two-way dialogue that uses public input to make sustainable decisions. Examples: Moderated forums, focus groups, listening sessions, participatory budgeting.
