Two text changes will be available for residents to provide comments beginning early 2022 and include:
- Missing Middle 2.0
- Tree Conservation/Forestation
Interested in engaging in the text change process? The text change engagement portal is where the proposed text change is drafted. Residents will have two weeks to provide comments and questions.
On occasion, there is a need to make changes to the City’s Unified Development Ordinance or UDO which governs land use and development in Raleigh. Text changes allow for changes to modify the rules that guide development. Text changes can address new development trends, accommodate changes in resident preferences, and clarify existing code language.
These text changes are important because ordinances affect what you can do with your property, what your neighbors can do with theirs, and what kind of development can take place in your neighborhood.
