City Manager Marchell Adams-David has named Heather McDougall to lead the Office of Strategy and Innovation. This is a new office for the City of Raleigh that will lead transformative and innovative projects throughout the organization and collaborate with all departments to support continuous improvement in service delivery. Additionally, the office will be responsible for developing partnerships with private sector entrepreneurs and innovators to bring new ideas and creative solutions to the city.
"We are excited to have Heather on board," said Adams-David. "She's known for her innovative leadership and her creative approach to strategic development."
McDougall founded Leadership exCHANGE in 1999 and is currently its Executive Director. The company is dedicated to training globally-minded leaders.
"I am very excited to join the City of Raleigh's new Office of Strategy and Innovation. Raleigh is a phenomenal city for innovation with a distinctively collaborative community," said McDougall. "I look forward to utilizing my local and international experience to help Raleigh become a model for other cities looking to build inclusive innovation communities."
She holds a Ph.D. in political science from Indiana University, as well as a Masters of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Her start date is December 20.
