Fall Festival at Method Community Park

Friday, October 15, 5 to 7 p.m.

Join us at Method Community Center for a spook-tacular family event! Admission is free to the public and will include arts and crafts, carnival games, music, healthy treat bags, a photo booth, and more! No registration required.

Pumpk-n-Paint at Brier Creek Park

Tuesday, October 12, 6 to 8 p.m.

Come join us for an evening of family fun and creativity as we decorate pumpkins and create a fall craft to inspire the most outrageous designs and creations. Pre-registration is required, and one parent must accompany the child.

Falling for Local at Dorothea Dix Park

Saturday, Oct. 16, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Celebrate autumn in Raleigh with a market and festival at Dorothea Dix Park! Activities include live music, 100+ local makers and vendors, Triangle-area craft beer and cider on tap, 25+ food trucks, kids zone, free pumpkins, hay rides, and more!

Pumpkin Painting at Millbrook Exchange Park

Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Join us at Millbrook Exchange Park for a morning of pumpkin painting on the patio. Registration is per child and will include a mini-pumpkin and a variety of decorative supplies. Come for the crafty fun, and let us clean up the mess! This is an outdoor event. In the event of inclement weather, it will move indoors. All individuals over the age of 5 are required to wear a mask indoors.
Fee: $6 per child

Fall Festival at John Chavis Memorial Park

Thursday, Oct. 28,  6:30–8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 30, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Join us for festive fall fun! Come if you dare for two days filled with treats, arts & crafts, music, food trucks, games, vendors, and more. Come for one day or both! Fall in love with John Chavis Memorial Park fall festivities. Wear your costumes and smiling faces! This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Family Fun(gi) in the Wetland at Walnut Creek Wetland Park

Saturday, October 9, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Join us as we learn about the fabulous world of fungi! We will begin with a classroom portion all about the anatomy of fungi, their importance in the ecosystem, and some common species that can be found around Walnut Creek. Then, we will spend the second half of the day testing our identification skills out in the field. Come dressed to spend time outdoors in the woods!

Family Naturalists: Nocturnal Nature and Night Hike at Walnut Creek Wetland Park

Friday, October 29, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

As you are getting sleepy and letting go a of a yawn, many of the wetland's inhabitants are stretching and getting ready for their 'day.' We'll look at which animals are active in the wetland and go for a night hike. What might we see and hear? This is a family program and the fee applies to all participants ages 2 and older. Please register at least 4 days in advance and come dressed for the weather.
